Deb was a cosmetologist who was known as a precision cutter at top salons with professional clientele for 20 years in Corning, New York. Overseas, her creativity was expressed in the personalized English conversation curriculum she assembled for each of her students. From beginners to lawyers, medical doctors, medical receptionists dealing with international insurance companies, Ukrainian refugees at risk for human trafficking, and former prostitutes needing to learn in order to find new jobs, Deb saw improvements in all her students. Her dynamic and warm teaching style endeared her to her students, and she would often receive compliments that she was the best teacher..

Providing free haircuts to nursing home residents there birthed a desire to do what she could to help those who are unseen by society.
